Second of Melbourne's player to win nominationLIAM JURRAH from Melbourne Football Club is the NAB AFL Rising Star nominee for Round 15.
Jurrah (pictured) was instrumental in Melbourne's 11-point win over Port Adelaide at the MCG on Sunday, booting four goals.
The 20-year old from Yuendumu, 300 kilometres north-west of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory, has been an exciting addition to the Melbourne forward line since making his AFL debut against Essendon at Docklands in Round 12.
His elevation to the senior team came after back-to-back four-goal hauls with the Casey Scorpions in the VFL.
Jurrah has played all four matches since his debut, kicking at least one goal in each game and a total of eight for the year.
From the Warlpiri tribal lands, Jurrah was recruited by Melbourne with the first selection in the 2009 NAB AFL Preseason Draft.
He emerged as an AFL prospect while playing with the Yuendumu Magpies. In 2008, he was brought to Melbourne where he played four games with Collingwood's VFL team.
Jurrah is Melbourne's second consecutive NAB AFL Rising Star nominee following Jack Grimes in Round 14.
Following each round of the home and away season, a panel of judges will select a NAB AFL Rising Star nominee. At the completion of the season, one of these nominees will be chosen as the 2009 NAB AFL Rising Star.
