Indigenous program takes footy north of the borderFOR the first time ever, the Marngrook Footy Show will be presenting its top-rating AFL program live to a Sydney audience on Thursday from 7.30pm, direct from Foxtel studios in North Ryde.
The Marngrook Footy Show will be in Sydney to join in NAIDOC celebrations, which includes the Round 15 match between Sydney and Essendon on Saturday, in which the Swans and Bombers will play for the Marngrook Trophy. The annual clash between the two teams has been played for the spectacular Marngrook Trophy since 2002.
Hosted by Grant Hansen and Gilbert McAdam, with regulars Ronnie Burns, Alan Thorpe and Brisbane Lions assistant coach Chris Johnson, the Marngrook Footy Show is quoted as being AFL chief's Andrew Demetriou's favourite footy program and the one he regularly tunes in for.
All-star guests at the Marngrook footy show's Sydney special will include Swans favourites Adam Goodes and Michael O'Loughlin, legendary Indigenous performer Vic Simms, Rockpile Jones from OL'55, along with Sydney band On the Prowl.
In a collaboration of the codes, Brad Cooke, host of NITV's Barefoot Rugby League Show will also make a guest appearance.
All the regular segments with Leila Gurruwiwi and Sandy Greenwood will feature, as well as Tiddas Tips with former Sydney Swans Star Steve Taubert who is now the assistant Sydney ruck coach.
