Top spot on the line for NT sideTHE Indigenous-laden NT Thunder are on a four-game winning streak in the Queensland Australian Football League but what's at stake tomorrow is a test of credibility when they meet ladder leaders Morningside in Cairns tomorrow night.
The Michael McLean-coached fourth-placed Thunder face the table-topping Panthers in a match that should give a better indication of where the first-year club is at.
Two of the wins in the Thunder's four-game streak have come against lowly Aspley and the Western Magpies, which share just one win from 19 games combined. A win against Morningside tomorrow will see the Northern Territory side join it on 28 premiership points.
Thunder tyro Shane Thorne (pictured) was nominated by McLean as the team's best player in their commanding 82-point win over Broadbeach at Marrara Oval last weekend. Thorne kicked two of his side's 24 goals.
Ah Mat joins ThunderPOLISHED forward Ben Ah Mat has joined the NT Thunder, one of two mid-season additions to the squad.
The NTFL premiership player and 2003-04 Nichols medallist comes into the Thunder squad covering for Nyoongar man Marty Smith, who is out for at least six weeks with an ankle injury.
