WA quartet part of initial squad for State gameTHERE may be no State of Origin footy at AFL level, but State rep footy remains strong at the second-tier. Next month, Adam Cockie, Jeff Farmer, Lewis Jetta and Anthony Kyanga have the chance to restore some West Australian pride.
The Indigenous quartet were named in an initial WA squad of 29 players to prepare for the May 23 clash with South Australia in Perth. If West Coast allow him to play, it will be Adam Cockie's second representative match after his strong showing for the Black Swans in their win over Queensland in Townsville last year.
The squad was selected by WA coach Scott Watters (Subiaco), who was assisted by fellow league coaches Tony Micale (East Perth), Chris Waterman (Peel) and Shane Woewodin (East Fremantle). There are five rounds remaining until the match and Watters said players have plenty of time to press their claims for selection.
