EIGHTÂ boys invited to AFL Draft CampCHARLIE SHARPLES' 2008 season with Sturt was rewarded after being named among the 75-strong squad to attend the AFL's draft camp.
Sharples won a guernsey for South Australia which defeated Victoria at Adelaide Oval this year and his efforts with the Double Blues have earmarked him as a crowd favourite.
He is one of eight Indigenous footballers invited to the camp, where the attendees are given the opportunity to impress AFL recruiters as they are put through a series of interviews and physical tests.
The camp begins on Tuesday, September 30, and those still involved with their clubs, mainly South Australian players like Sharples, whose season goes beyond this weekend, will later join the rest of the group.
Sharples will be joined in Canberra by Stephen Hill (West Perth), Neville Jetta (Swan Districts), Steven Motlop (Wanderers), Adam Varcoe (Central District), Michael Walters (Swan Districts), Chris Yarran (Swan Districts) and Casey Sibosado (NT Thunder).
