SYDNEY coach Paul Roos has conceded his star utility Adam Goodes faces an uncertain stint on the sidelines and could be out until the eve of the AFL finals series.
The Swans mentor going so far to say that Goodes should not have played at the weekend.
"He wasn't able to contribute at all and it impacted significantly on our ability to win the game of footy, particularly when Henry (Playfair) went down," Roos said after the match against Adelaide, in which the Swans lost. "Effectively, we were two players short. With Adam, we can't put him in a position where he is not capable of performing.
"It could be two or three weeks (until he plays again), who knows? He is obviously a great player but we saw with Chris Judd last year, it doesn't matter how good a player you are if you can't run and can't move.
"You are better picking somebody physically capable of getting across the ground and helping the team win. This week he just won't play."
Former Tiger sentenced
ONE-TIME Richmond AFL forward, Andrew Krakouer, has received a 16-month jail sentence for an assault outside a Fremantle nightclub.
District Court Judge Kate O'Brien in Perth earlier today sentenced the 25-year-old for 'assault causing bodily harm to 24-year-old Justin Martin by kicking him in the head and upper body during a fight on December 22, 2006'.
Krakouer, who was delisted by the Tigers last year and was subsequently recruited by WAFL club, Swan Districts where he played several games this year, was sentenced to four years' jail but that was cut down to 32 months under Western Australia's Truth in Sentencing laws, meaning that he will be eligible for parole in 16 months' time.
Richmond Football Club lent its support to their former player via a statement detailing Krakouer's leadership and mentoring abilities. That was one of a large number of personal references submitted to the court on his behalf.
