HIS AFL journey is still unfolding and according to those within the inner sanctum at Hawthorn, Pitjantjatjara man Amos Frank will be playing at the elite level soon enough.
On the mend and back in action from injury, Frank (pictured) is igniting the VFL with his exceptional pace and raking left-foot kicks.
In two games for Box Hill Hawks, he has booted three goals and has shown why Hawthorn regard him as a keeper.
From Fregon, in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands of central Australia, Frank was pick No. 34 for the Hawks in last year's rookie draft.
That selection was on the strength of just one game in the SANFL: with Woodville-West Torrens' reserves.
Frank was the Far North West Sports League's fairest-and-best two years running and had played at the MCG twice for representative matches.
"I have no doubts at all that he will play for the Hawks; maybe not this year or next, but it will happen," the Hawks' development officer, Shane Ford, said.
Ford said Frank, as an initiated man, has a high standing in the community now perhaps even more so with the path he's on with football.
"Amos is bigger than Cyril (Rilo) and Buddy (Frankli) at the APY Lands, and particularly in the schools. They use his example as a role model there."
