MALLEE Park Football Club's Harry Miller kicked two goals and was named among SA Country's best in his State's win against their WA counterparts last weekend.
The former Hawthorn AFL player Miller and countryman Waylon Johncock were part of the SA team which defeated Glen Garlett's WA Country team by 31 points to claim the inaugural Country Challenge Cup at AAMI Stadium in Adelaide on Sunday.
With scores tied at 43 points apiece at half-time, the country Croweaters piled on 10 goals to WA's four in the second half to win 16.9 (105) to 10.14 (74).
The match was the first between the representative teams and was the curtain-raiser to the AFL's round 19 Adelaide-Port Adelaide match, Showdown XXXI.
The win caps a fairly successful few weeks for Miller and Johncock in their respective footy careers.
The footballers played in their Western region representative
team's win of the SA Country Championships last month.
It was from that carnival where they were selected in the team to play WA.
Miller was named the SA country carnival's best Indigenous player.
Johncock's Koonibba Football Club has the Far West Football League (A Grade) minor premiership sewn up, having dropped just the one game so far this season.
In the Port Lincoln Football League, Miller's Mallee Park has lost just two games in 2011.
There are plans to make the Country Challenge Cup between SA and WA an annual fixture and to alternate venues between the two States.
