THEY'RE promising 'sparks will fly' at Mandurah today when WA host Queensland in another instalment of interstate footy.
Former Brisbane Lion Albert Proud (pictured) has made the trek west for the Maroons in which they hope to build on last year's interstate success.
In 2010 the Queenslanders swept Tasmania aside by 79 points, their first win over a traditional football State team in the modern era. However, only 12 of those players remain from that match, with selectors aiming for a 'horses for courses' policy.
With NT Thunder playing in the QAFL, several players have made the team but they will be without former St Kilda draftee, Ross Tungatalum, who withdrew from the squad citing tiredness.
The Tiwi Islander booted five goals in the Thunder's win over the Brisbane Lions last weekend but he hasn't had a rest for 12 months, having played for Tiwi Bombers in the NTFL and the Thunder.
Graeme Jetta, older brother of Sydney Swans' Lewis Jetta, has been named in a back pocket for WA.
