Redbacks’ Women Win but Miss Finals

Forward Tarsha Fletcher scored nine and had five rebounds while point-guard Gabby O’Sullivan scored eight and had eight rebounds.

The Bank of Queensland Redbacks’ men lost in a tight encounter against the Hawks 97 to 104.

Centre Justin Brown was their highest scorer with 27 along with nine rebounds.

Small-forward Bennie Lewis had 23 together with nine rebounds and six assists while shooting guard Jarrad Prior scored 20 along with six rebounds.

Despite the loss the Redbacks’ men made the playoffs in eighth position in the 14-team competition with 14 wins and 12 losses.

They meet the top-qualifying Lakeside Lightning in the first of the best of three quarter-final series at their home venue of Belmont Oasis Leisure Centre at 7.30PM on Saturday.
