Redbacks v Singapore National Team Basketball Match

The Perth Redbacks’ Men’s State Basketball League team plays the Singapore Natioanl Team in an international basketball match on Wednesday 5 October 2012.

Tip-off is at 7PM on the showcourt at the Br. Paull Centre, Aquinas College, 58 Mount Henry Road, Salter Point.

The Redbacks’ team will include current Wildcats player Michael Vigor along with former National Basketball League player Adrian Majstrovich and recently returned former Wildcat and Ballarat Miners player Jarrad Prior.

The game promises to be highly competitive with both teams being in strong form having competed in their respective 2011 competition play-offs.

The Slingers reached the semi-final stage of the ASEAN Basketball League, while the Redbacks made the quarter final stage of the Western Australian State Basketball League.

Redbacks’ coach David Harris said the game would provide an excellent opportunity for the continued exposure of our playing group to elements of professional basketball, which can only enhance the pathway they have been on.

“Playing against an Internatioanl Team will provide the perfect opportunity for the younger members of our squad to gain first hand experience into what professional basketball may look like.  Such an experience should prove invaluable to their development,” he said.

At $5 for adults and free entry for children when accompanied by a supervising adult, this game provides an ideal opportunity for the community to enjoy a top-level international basketball match at a cheap price. Ticket sales will be at the door on the night.
