Benchmark Designer Homes WABL Wrap Week Two

The Benchmark Designer Homes Redbacks’ won six from fifteen away-games against Cockburn Cougars in round two of the WABL fixtures.

Unfortunately, individual player statistics have not been placed on the WABL website (www.wabl.asn.au) and therefore have not been included in this week’s article. We will try to see if this can be rectified for future wraps, but we are entirely dependent upon the league’s website for this information.

The under 12 men had a heartbreaking loss by the smallest possible margin of one-point loss, with a score of 34 to 35. This leaves them with a season record of no wins and two losses and in 3rd place out of five teams in the Northern Conference Pool.

The under 12 women’s team improved markedly in scoring 14 points against Cockburn, despite losing to them 14 to 43. They are now in 5th position out of six conference teams with no wins and two losses.

The under 13 men had a strong 76 to 53 win, which sees them unbeaten in their first two games and in 2nd place in the six-team conference.

The under 13 women also had a strong 41 to 31 win against Cockburn. This sees them with a season record of one win and one loss and in 4th place in their five-team conference.

The under 14 men won 52 to 37. They now have a season record of one win and one loss and are in 4th place in the five-team conference.

The under 14 women lost their encounter against Cockburn 20 to 49. They have no wins and two losses and are in fifth place on percentage only in the five-team conference.

The under 15 men won a tough encounter 70 to 61. This win sees them in 4th place in the six-team conference with one win and one loss.

The under 15 women lost 28 to 94 to the strong Cockburn team. They are fifth in their five-team competition with no wins and two losses.

The under 16 men’s team lost their encounter by one point with a 68 to 69 score-line. This was the second loss on the day by that margin and sees them with no wins and two losses and in 5th place in the six-team conference.

The under 16 women’s team won 46 to 40 in a tight encounter against Cockburn. They now have one win and one loss and are in fifth place in the six-team conference.

The under 18 Division One men’s team lost 60 to 90. This sees them with a season record of no wins and two losses and in sixth position in the six-team conference. The under 18 Division Two men’s team had a bye.

The under 18 Division One women’s team lost 43 to 47. They now have one win and one loss and are in 5th place in the six-team conference.

The under 20 men’s team had their first win of the year with a score-line of 74 to 64. They are in 6th place in the nine-team competition with one win and one loss.

The Development League women’s team remains unbeaten after two games following their 69 to 35 win against Cockburn. This sees them on top-place in the six-team conference.

Week three of the fixtures was held against the strong Lakeside Lightning combinations. A separate article will be posted in relation to those results.
