The Perth Basketball Association is currently seeking applications for our Men’s State Basketball League Head Coach role. 

Our SBL program is community based with athletes developed as both basketball players and leaders within our community. We are seeking a suitable coach wanting to lead a strong program on and off the court as the Perth Redbacks family grows over the next 3 - 5 years in line with our strategic vision. 

Reporting to the General Manager, the coach will be responsible for selecting, educating, developing, managing and providing clear direction to our Men’s SBL team and the wider Men’s program. Key duties include:

• Ability to manage elite basketball programs, with a winning culture. 

• Ability to develop and educate young basketball talent.

• Passionate about being a leader within a community.

• Outstanding communication skills.

• Capacity to retain and attract top level basketball talent as required. 

• Create a professional culture within the team that aligns to the club vision.

• Strong organisational skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong motivational skills

• Passion for fostering the development of players and coaches. 

About PBA

The club has undergone significant growth over the past two years, with the appointment of a full-time General Manager and the development of a new strategic plan. With over 1,000 members the club has a strong strategic focus on growth, with a number of exciting initiatives to follow over the next 3 - 5 years. Our vision is to be leaders within our community and to foster the growth and development of our members through basketball. 

Our Men’s SBL team won the SBL Championship in 2017 and have regularly participated in finals over the past eight years. The team has a strong core group of players with the ability to attract key components in 2020. Supported by the GM, Board and our SBL Committee the club is aiming to continue the current growth of the program with the selection of a strong candidate.
