Nelson joins Redbacks
The Texture WA Perth Redbacks are excited to announce the signing of home grown NBL player Marshall Nelson for 2019.
The 2017 Redbacks Championship player spent 2018/19 with his first NBL contract with the Illawara Hawks.
"I very excited in having Marshall return to us after a full nbl season of experience with Illawara" said Head Coach Nik Lackovic.
"I’ve known for a long time that Marshall was capable of playing in the nbl as he’s a very talented combo guard who is athletic and very explosive off the dribble."
Nelson has impressed under the guidance of one of the best development coaches in the NBL in former Wildcats mentor Rob Beveridge.
The club is excited to welcome Nelson home in 2019 to lead the backcourt and work with our Redbacks community.
"His strength has always been the ability to score the ball in multiple ways and also make plays for his team mates, his ability to defend full court and impact games on the defensive end will make him in my opinion one of the elite players in the SBL this season" said Lackovic.
The Texture WA Perth Redbacks kick off their season this Saturday night at Belmont Oasis against the Warwick Senators.
