WSBL Player Signing! - Makailah Dyer

The Perth Redbacks are pleased to announce the signing of Makailah Dyer, a dynamic combo guard from the University of North Dakota.

As a senior, Makailah co-captained UND’s women’s basketball team and earned a first-team (unanimous) All-Big Sky Conference honour after leading the team in scoring at 15.0 points per game and adding 4.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.1 steals per contest.
At the conclusion of her collegiate career, Makailah finished with 1,466 total career points.

“We welcome Makailah to the Redbacks after an outstanding collegiate career.” said Redbacks womens coach, Charles Nix, “I feel that her skillset and personality really complement the pieces we have and she will impact our league immediately. As has been our focus on recruiting, she is of high character both on and off court. We can't wait for her to arrive and start working with the team.”

Makailah has come to the Redbacks through Elevate Athlete Management and well known WA basketball personality, Vlad Alava “Makailah is a driven and motivated professional who is very much looking forward to putting on the Redbacks uniform.” Alava said, "She is coming off a stellar career at the University of North Dakota with multiple milestones and achievements, not the least of which was being named Big Sky All Conference First team in her senior year. Makailah will add another scoring option to what looks to be a potent Redbacks outfit in 2018.”

Dyer is looking forward to arriving in Australia and getting started on her professional basketball career
“I couldn’t be more excited to join the Perth Redbacks Association. Having the opportunity to play basketball professionally in Australia is a dream come true. What really excites me is that Coach Nix and the rest of the organisation really take pride in bringing together not only good players, but good people as well. I can’t wait to get to Perth to start working with the rest of the team!”

On behalf of everyone at the Perth Basketball Association, welcome to the Redbacks, Makailah!
