WABL Wrap Round Seven

The Daimler Trucks’ Perth Redbacks took on the Stirling Senators in an away-game Western Australian Basketball League round of fixtures played at the Warwick Recreation Centre.

Under 18 division one player Lattrell Matthews was the highest scorer from the Redbacks’ men’s teams with 22 while under 20 Logan Viskovich had 19, under 13 Timothy Komaiya had 18 and under 20 Josh Hindle also had 18.

Under 15 Chloe Smith was the highest scorer out of the Redbacks’ women’s teams with 19 while under 13 Kajanda Ninyette had 18, under 18 Sam Tognolini (who must be making the most of the euphoria gained from the new Mazda 3 given to her as a recent birthday present by her presents) had 16 and D-League player Jess Jakens 15.

The Redbacks’ under 12 men’s team lost 31 to 45. Ash Haemori scored two, Kai Haemori 12, Tariq Muturi 10, Nicholas Romeo two, Trent Moralee three and Noah Prosser two.

The under 12 women had a bye.

The under 13 men lost 35 to 51. Benjamin Goard, Jacob Wilmot and Daniel Thai all scored two while Tyrone Van Wees scored one, Luke Schonemann six, Timothy Komaiya 18 and Jack Lake four.

The under 13 women’s team had a strong 51 to 33 win.   Milla Ragless scored two, Ella McCaughan eight, Abbey Chehab eight, Estella Penny two, Kira Todd four, Elly Best four, Kajanda Ninyette 18 and Savahna Nevill five.

The under 14 men maintained their unbeaten record with a 44 to 28 win over the Senators. Beau Tuccio scored 11, Oskar Nivison two, Luke Simonette nine, Jake Moralee two, Nicholas Biancuzzo two, Jordan Rigden two, Kyle Bowen eight, Jordan Herbert six and Orgil Battogtokh two.

The under 14 women’s team sustained a narrow 33 to 36 loss. Chloe Wrigley scored two, Eloise Kon-Yu three, Sophie Pyne two, Noor Soliman five, Melissa Hughes five, Shelby Foster two, Emily Nixon ten and Lauren Thompson four.

The under 15 men’s team lost to the tough Stirling outfit 34 to 84. Reece Hewitt scored 11, Joel Weir two, Todd Nosworthy two, Nazir Hashem nine, Bailey Wallam six and Nicholas Pyne four.

The under 15 women lost 42 to 59 with Chloe Smith scoring 19, Rachel Warren four, Abbey Thomas 10, Angeleen Van Wees six, Emma Bowen one and Rosemary Brunning two.

The under 16 men’s team lost in a tight encounter 46 to 51. Fraser Doyle scored 17, Connor Jansen 14, Mark Santos seven, Bradley Clarke two, Adam Parora two, Lucas Macente two and Christopher Lee two.

The under 16 women’s team had a strong 76 to 67 win. Sheldon Galliott scored two, Teagan Verren 11, Keziah Bin Sali 23, Claric Antero eight, Shannon Street 28, Tayla Naudi two and Samantha Brunning two.

The under 18 division two men lost 48 to 82. Dion Street scored 10, Jonathan Warren five, Rhys Miller 10, Matthew Biletic two, Jervey Sanson 10, Jeremy Fletcher two, Timothy Lewis six and James Gauvin three.

The under 18 women’s team lost 55 to 78. Maddison Galliott scored eight, Sam Tognolini 16, Lucy Noll five, Breanna Goodson four, Michell Curro seven, Emily Hughes five, Rebecca Sampson six and Jillisa Walker four.

The under 18 division one men lost 53 to 85. Jeet Mann scored four, Jarrett Donker five, Sean Jakens nine, Frank Johnson four, Kevin Tinayenda one, Jacob Marr five, Jack Wagner three and Lattrell Matthews 22.

The under 20 men’s team lost 65 to 78 in their game played against the Kalamunda Eastern Suns at Belmont Oasis. Joshua Hindle scored 18, Alex Jacobsen 10, Benjamin wedge four, Logan Viskovich 19, Bradley Hall seven and Ben Ellis seven.

The D-League men’s team lost 68 to 90. Jared Faint scored 13, Steven Vigor 18, Tim Rendulic 15, Jack Wagner four, Ben Ellis six and Jamieson Lewis 12.

The D-League women’s team lost 56 to 70. Tash Nicholson scored two, Jessica Hughes seven, Catherine Tinley six, Natasha Ziino four, Kristy Goodall six, Jess Jakens 15, Emily Harris six, Lori Ashworth two and Alix Hayward eight.
