Success for Under 17 Girls and Under 14 Boys

In the final weekend of the 2011 basketball calendar, the Redbacks Under 17 Girls took down all comers to win the pennant in their division of the BWA State Championships.

With several potential future SBL players the girls, coached by Anne-Marie Arnold, displayed an impressive mental toughness to close out  a tightly played Grand Final.  Led by tournament MVP Jess Hughes, and ably supported by their impressive depth of talent, the girls topped off what has been an outstanding State Championships calendar for the Redbacks Girls.

In addition to a wonderful performance by the girls, the Under 14 Boys consolidated their phenomenal year by making the Grand Final of the Under 14 Championship Division.  Under the guidance of coach Dave Jansen, the boys again showed how a mix of talent and hard work leads to continued success.

The PBA would like to extend our congratulations to all participants over the last three weekends.  All Redbacks players have done an outstanding job of representing the values and passion of our basketball club.

All players and coaches are advised to pay constant attention to the PBA website, as it will be updated regularly. Venues and times for the 2012 WABL tryout day, as well as the 2012 practice schedule and venues will be published as they become available.
