Brooke Hiddlestone’s 350th Game

Perth Redbacks’ women’s team State Basketball League player Brooke Hiddlestone celebrated her 350th State Basketball League game in last Saturday’s end of season game against the East Perth Eagles.

In a stellar career that spans over 18 years Brooke’s accolades include:

  • a premiership with the Redbacks in 2000, Senators in 1998 and the Mustangs in 1995;
  • one league most valuable player award;
  • five Redbacks’ most valuable player awards;
  • three Redbacks’ fairest and best awards;
  • three Redbacks’ Len Vlahov Memorial Trophy awards;
  • two Redbacks’ most consistent awards; and
  • three league all-star awards.

This is along with league and club statistical awards that are simply too numerous to list but number over 20 in total.

However, her overall statistics demonstrate the impact she has had on the league, primarily demonstrated by the fact that she has a career ‘double-double’ in averaging 16 points and 10 rebounds per game.

Her key statistics are:

  • 5,603 points;
  • 2,261 field goals made out of 4,464 attempts at 51%;
  • 750 assists;
  • 221 blocked shots;
  • 526 steals;
  • 1,123 offensive and 2,248 defensive rebounds; and
  •  1,073 successful free throws out of 1,446 attempts at 74%.

From the commencement of her State Basketball League career in 1994 until 1998 Brooke played for the Wanneroo Wolves, Swan City Mustangs and Stirling Senators.

During this time she also had four seasons with the WAIS Breakers Women’s National Basketball team from 1994 to 1997 inclusive.

Our club is proud of the fact that for the remainder of her playing career from 2000 onwards Brooke has been with the Perth Redbacks.

The Redbacks wishes Brooke all the best in tonight’s game and looks forward to her next 350 games with the club.
