Benchmark Designer Homes WABL Wrap Round Six

The Benchmark Designer Homes Redbacks had five wins and seven losses against the Kalamunda Eastern Suns in last Sunday’s Western Australian Basketball League round.

The highest scorer from all the Redbacks’ men’s teams was under 16 Giordano Monteleone with 35, while under 15 Jeet Mann was the next highest on 27 and under 14 Zac Huxley scored 23,

Under 12 Emily Nixon was the highest scorer of the Redbacks’ women’s players with 23, while under 14 Keziah Bin Sali had 17 and under 15 Laney Stewart 16.

The Benchmark Designer Homes Redbacks under 12 men’s team lost a heart-breaker double-overtime game 72 to 73. The outcome of the game was not decided until the very last shot of the game that was taken by the Redbacks and narrowly missed having rimmed out. They now have a season record of three wins and three losses and are in fourth place in the six-team conference. Kyle Bowen top-scored scored 20, Luke Simonette 16, Kyle Bowen eight, Nick Biancuzzo six, Jack Tognolini and Jordon Herbert three and Nicholas Parker two.

The under 12 women’s team is in second conference place out of five teams with three wins and three losses following their 33 to 23 win over the Suns. Emily Nixon top-scored with 23, Sophie Pyne scored three and Sharyce Krakouer two.

The under 13 men’s team were beaten 37 to 67. Mitchell Parker scored 11, Ryan Bride eight, Jack Collard six, Nazir Hashem and Mihalo Bozic four, Nicholas Pyne three and Reece Hewitt one. They are now in 6th conference place with one win and five losses.

The under 13 women are in fifth conference place after they were beaten 15 to 52. Chloe Smith scored 14 and Kai Wineera one.

The under 14 men won 65 to 46. Zac Huxley scored 23, Stephen Pover 20, Connor Jansen 10, Jared Pedersen six, Adam Parora and Daniel Skelton four and Max Whately two. They are in second conference place out of six teams with five wins and one loss.

The Benchmark Designer Redbacks under 14 women narrowly lost to the Suns 36 to 45. Keziah Bin Sali scored 17, Ashtyn Mason nine and Emerson Lambert four while Shannyn Pomversbach, Gabriella Pyne and Emily Capstick all scored two. They are now fourth conference place out of five teams.

The under 15 men now have a season record of two wins and four losses and are in fifth conference place out of six teams, after securing their first win of the year against the Suns 86 to 57. Jeet Mann scored 27, Jack Wagner 20, Kevin Tingyendu and Matthew Biletic 10, Sean Jakens nine, Mitchell Steacy five, Jack Lowes and Dion Street two and Fraser rose one.

The under 15 women lost 50 to 66. Lainey Stewart top-scored with 16 while Kyra Law scored 10, Rebecca Sampson eight, Michelle Curro and Jessica Richardson five, Emily Hughes three, Breanna Goodson two and Sarah Gunn one. They remain in fifth conference place.

The under 16 men won 62 to 53. Giordano Monteleone top-scored with 35, Lattrell Matthews 14, Jarrett Donker six, Jacob Marr two, Julian Nelthorpe two, Christian Tachev two and Clint Jansen one. They are in fourth conference place with four wins and two losses.

The under 16 women’s team remains in fifth conference place with one win and five losses, after their 27 to 121 to the Suns. Teresa Maines scored eight, Rachael Goodger seven and Taylor Burtenshaw four while Lucy Noll, Taylah Mason, Tayla Goodson and Alicia Matrenza all scored two.

The under 18 Division women were beaten 46 to 77. Jessica Hughes and Tiarn Burtenshaw both scored 13, Natasha Ziino 11, Lori Ashworth seven and Bianca Parora two. They now have one win and four losses and are in fifth conference place.

The Benchmark Designer Homes under 20 men remain in top conference place with four wins and one loss after their 91 to 76 win. Geordie Murray top-scored with 22 while Steven Vigor scored 15, Jake Whately and Dylan Murphy 13, Jamieson Lewis 12, Johno Montgomery seven and Sheldon Godfrey and Filip Glisic both scored two.

There is no score recorded on the website for the under 18 Division One and Division Two men’s games and for both the men’s and women’s Development League games.

The WABL action is again at Leisurelife in East Victoria Park this Sunday when the Benchmark Designer Homes Redbacks takes on the Stirling Senators.
