Volunteers Week
As this is 2012 volunteer week, it is an opportune time to acknowledge the work undertaken by volunteers that makes our club run successfully.
Due to the large numbers involved it is simply not possible (and in any case too risky) to try and list them all individually. However, it is estimated around 150 people help in any one week in the various activities undertaken by our club that includes
- running our three domestic basketball competitions (Belmont, Loftus and Leisurelife);
- running our SBL games;
- running our WABL games;
- coaching our various WABL, SBL and Domestic teams;
- managing our WABL, SBL and Domestic teams;
- conducting our indigenous development program;
- conducting our Aussport program;
- running our Talent Identification Programmes;
- organising our various metropolitan and country basketball clinics;
- working on our Board of Management and various sub-committees;
- applying for our various grants;
- approaching club sponsors;
- undertaking the various administrative functions (such as issuing invoices, paying bills, writing letters etc) on an almost day to day basis.
On behalf of our club I would like to record our thanks to all of our volunteers. Without your help the club just could not operate.
