This weekend there are three teams in action during Week 2 of the WABL Finals. Perry Lakes will play host to ALL of the games this weekend. The Redbacks Under 18/1 Men, Division 1 Men, and Division 1 Women will all be playing.
The Under 18/1 Men take on the Southwest Slammers at 2:00pm on Court 1 at Perry Lakes. The last time these two teams met was in Collie in Week 6 of the regular season. On that day the Redbacks had a big 76-56 win. A win this weekend will see the Redbacks move into the Semi Finals and take on the Stirling Senators for the right to play in the Grand Final.
The Division 1 Men and Women both finished first and second respectively in their pools. Both could have had the weekend off and moved straight into the Semi-Finals with wins last weekend. However both teams went down by narrow margins and now have to fight another battle to make it to the Semis. The Men will face off against the Willetton Tigers at 3:45pm on Court 1 at Perry Lakes. The last time the Redbacks played the Tigers they won 79-51. A win in this match will see them face off against the Cougars.
The Women also play at 3:45 but on Court 5 at Perry Lakes. The Women will do battle with the Rockingham Flames. Last time the ladies played Rockingham they came away with a 57-47 win in Rockingham. If the team wins this week they will earn themselves a Semi-Final clash with the Willetton Tigers.
Congratulations to all of the above teams on making it this far. We wish them the best of luck as they do battle for our club. Please get down to Perry Lakes for a couple of hours in the afternoon to support these teams.
