Redbacks @ Nationals

5-7-2007 - By PBA Media
The Under 16 Nationals are winding up and the Under 18 Nationals are getting ready to start. The Redbacks are being represented by Kallon Sharpe in the Under 16 Mens team in Terrigal, NSW. The team is having a good tournament so far and has a 4-2 win-loss ratio. Unfortunately they dropped a game to South Australia Metro this afternoon by just 3 points which took them from the top two of their pool. As the top two from each pool play off for medals, WA can now only hope for 5th at best. However they have done the state extremely proud, being the only team to have won more than one game up to this point in the tournament.
Kallon is also having a solid tournament, averaging 10.3 points & 5.5 rebounds in 6 games so far. His highest totals have been 15 points and 10 rebounds in seperate games. The team is scheduled to play against tommorow and if they win, will play off for 5th/6th position.
The Redbacks also being represented in the referee ranks at Under 16 Nationals. Two of our WABL referees, in Katie Roberts and Scott Macmillan have been officiating all week.
In Under 18 news, Robert Cassir and Garry Anderson flew out of Perth today to represent WA Metor & Country respectively. Their tournament begins on Saturday the 7th of July agaisnt Queensland North at 5:30 in Launceston, Tasmania. Good luck to the boys, we know you will do the club and State proud.
