WABL Week Two

7/05/2007
The Perth Redbacks enjoyed a much more succesful day at the Leisure Life Centre in Victoria Park on Sunday, winning 8/13 games against the Stirling Senators. It was the Women who enjoyed the most success winning 4/5 games. The Men also enjoyed success winning 4/8 games.

The Under 13 & 14 Women had big wins against the Senaotrs with the Under 13's winning 57-21 and Under 14's 87-31. However the Under 16/1's couldn't get over the line in their match, going down 50-73. The Under 18 Women continued their good start to the season winning 43-35 and the Division 1 Women recovered from their week one loss with a hard fought 49-47 win.

The Under 16/2 Mens team recovered from a four point loss last week to get a close 54-52 win. However the Under 16/1 Men couldnt hold back the Senators, going down 51-85. The Under 13 & 14 Men ran into some strong Stirling outfits and couldnt get over the line, the Under 13's loosing 28-107 and Under 14's 13-103. The Under 18/1 Men's team couldnt get on the board this week, they had a 78-119 against the strong Stirling team. The Under 18/2 Men won another close game for the Redbacks, 43-42 to get on the board for the season. The Under 23 Men also recovered from a week 1 loss with a 89-54 win and the Division 1 Men won again, 83-72.

All the teams have shown signs of improvement and played well. It was good to see more teams get some wins this week and regardless of results, all teams fighting hard. We look forward to next weeks games against the East Perth Eagles, again at Vic Park.

Next week also see's our Under 12 teams compete in their first carnival for the year. The carnival will be held at Warwick Leisure Centre this Sunday. Good Luck to all the Redbacks teams!
