Redbacks Sting Cougars

It was a night of suprises at Belmont Oasis last night with the Redbacks going 1-1 against the Cockburn Cougars. TO start the night of the Cougar women who came into the game winless in their first two games shocked the Redbacks crowd with a 3 point win. The Redbacks tried to fight back but suffocating defence on the last couple of plays allowed the Cougars to hold on for a 54-51 win.

The men then brought on the second shock of the night, stunning the Cougars and the Cougars crowd with a 15 point, 97-82 win. Former Wildcat, Paul Pochintesta scored a game high 27 points to lead the way. Frenchman Sami Driss showed the league he was ready to play in this league, going for 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists.

Jarrad Prior enjoyed his first game back from injury with 16 points in just 23 minutes. He went 75% from the floor and 60% from outside (3/5). Also impressive was Joel Wagners 'Double-Double' of 13 points and 12 assists, with just 4 turnovers. Ryan Neill continued his good form with 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists.
