WESTERN AUSTRALIAN BASKETBALL LEAGUE AWARDS
The Southside Mitsubishi Redbacks
recently held its annual Western
Australian Basketball League (WABL) Awards presentation at the picturesque South of Perth Yacht Club in Applecross.
Every player selected in a WABL
team or referee’s program was presented with a Redbacks’ medallion. Additionally, the following specific awards
were presented.
WABL “WHOLE OF COMPETITION” AWARDS
· Luke Fletcher as the league’s Most Valuable
Player in the under 15s men as well as being an all-star
· Roauf Isa as the league’s Most Valuable Referee
· Shaquille Maharaj and Jack Wagner as all-stars
in the under 13s men
· Samantha Tognolini as an all-star in the under
14s women
· Giordano Monteleone as an all-star in the under
14s men
· Jessica Jakens and Gabby O’Sullivan as all-stars
in the under 16s women
· Darcy Smit as an all-star in the under 16s men
· Shaun Stedman as an all-star in the under 18s
division 2 men
· Geordie Murray as an all-star in the under 18s
division 1 men

CATEGORY AWARDS
· President’s Trophy for achievements as a club
volunteer – Anne-Marie Arnold
· Alistair Stewart Memorial Endeavour Trophy to an
under 14s player – Jarrett Donker
· Lorraine Telfer Award for dedicated work as a
junior female volunteer – Jessica Jenkins
· Graham Pixie Smith Trophy for dedicated work as
a junior male volunteer – Ryan Simpson
· WABL Coach of the Year – Anne-Marie Arnold
· Medals of honour presented to specific helpers
over many years to Jessica Melville, Brooke Hiddlestone, Michael Romero, Adrian
Diconza, Paul Cassir and Marg Prior
· Community News Award to a dedicated volunteer
across all segments of the club to Michael Romero
· 2009 Redbacks’ Medallions for players that have
played or refereed through their entire junior playing career spanning at minimum
five years to Sheldon Godfrey, Geordie Murray, Adrian Diconza, Roauf Isa and
Gemma Thane

The club congratulates all award
