Wolves, Tigers one of seven battles to savour (Week 1 Women's SBL Preview)
THE Women's State Basketball League season for 2015 tips off this Friday night with two matches and then three on the Saturday night and two on Sunday afternoon on a jam packed opening round.
The action gets underway on Friday night with the Perry Lakes Hawks taking on the East Perth Eagles at the WA Basketball Centre and the Kalamunda Eastern Suns hosting the Mandurah Magic at Ray Owen Sports Centre. Both matches tip off at 6.30pm.
There are then three games on Saturday night with the Eagles backing up by hosting the defending champion Rockingham Flames at Morley Sport and Recreation Centre and the Lakeside Lightning playing the Cockburn Cougars at Lakeside Recreation Centre.
Saturday night's other fixture sees the Perth Redbacks host the Stirling Senators at their new home of Curtin University Stadium.
Then on Sunday, the Joondalup Wolves battle the Willetton Tigers at Joondalup Basketball Stadium at midday and then the South West Slammers take on the Lakeside Lightning at Eaton Recreation Centre at 3pm.
