Week Twelve 'Kickz101 Perth' Newcomers of the Week

People’s Choice East Perth Eagles forward Austin Kisselev has been announced the Week Twelve Men’s ‘Kickz101 Perth’ Newcomer of the Week.

Twenty-four year old Kisselev was impressive on Saturday when the Eagles took on the highly rated Wolves in Joondalup.

Coach Adam Forde called on his 196cm forward to step up and take the court against Wanneroo and in just 19 minutes of game time Kisselev was super-efficient as he shot six of nine from the field to finish with 14 points, 1 rebound, 4 assists, 2 steals and 1 block to help the Eagles to a six point victory 118-112.

Fans will be hoping for Kisselev and his East Perth team mates to continue their recent form in the hope the team can go one better than last year and take out the 2013 Men’s SBL Championship.

In the Women’s SBL Kalamunda Eastern Suns young star Jessie Edwards has been announced the Week Twelve ‘Kickz101 Perth’ Newcomer of the Week.

At just seventeen-years old and having stared for WA in the Under 18 and Under 20 National’s, Edwards has been touted as a future WNBL prospect having been a part of the 2012/13 West Coast Waves Academy.

Standing at 190cm tall, Edwards can cause problems for opponents at both ends of the floor with her size and strength under the basket.

Edwards has been plying her trade in the Women’s SBL for the Kalamunda Eastern Suns thriving under Head Coach Craig Mansfield.

Edwards was outstanding for the Suns on Sunday where she put together a game high 22 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists in just 18 minutes of game time to lead Kalamunda to a twenty-one point victory over the Cougars.

Kisselev and Edwards are now in contention for the monthly award where the winner of a facebook poll receives a pair of shoes of their choice thanks to Kickz101 Perth.
