Edwards Suits Up for 350th

Carpet Court Slammers star Aaron Edwards last night played his 350th SBL Game against the Lakeside Lightning at the Lakeside Recreation Centre.

Edwards has had a storied career that started in 1994 with ten appearances for the Southwest Slammers. Edwards has played 15 of his 16 seasons with the Slammers with his 1996 season at the Senators being the only exclusion.

Edwards has won three SBL Championships with the Slammers from their 90's "dynasty" era. Edwards missed their back to back 1995 & 1996 Championships when he played with Stirling in 1996. However he was a part of their 1998 & 1999 back-to-back championship teams.

Edwards has career averages of 12.05 points, 6.49 rebounds & 2.71 assists per game through his 349 games and will go down as just the tenth player to reach the 350 game milestone. Only Edwards, Redbacks star Ryan Neil & Geraldton legend Greg Brown are active on the top ten games played list. MSBL All-Time Games Played leader Troy Clarke has also suited up twice in 2009 for the Telstra Shop Success Cougars.
