Suns Welcome Back Nixon

The Kalamunda Eastern Suns have announced the signing of 2008 American Import Joe Nixon to replace the recently departed Ryan Kaminski.

In 18 games with the Eastern Suns last season, Nixon averaged 29.7 points, 7.2 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game. Nixon also had impressive shooting percentages, shooting 47% from the field and 48% from outside the three point arc.

Kaminski averaged 4.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2 assists per game in two losses against the Eagles and Giants. The Suns and Kaminski parted ways after Round 3 and immediately turned things around, defeating the Mandurah Magic 106-89. The 1-5 Eastern Suns take on the undefeated Cougars and the improving Tigers this round without Nixon.

Nixon's paperwork is currently with Basketball Australia and the Immigration Department. Club officials have said Nixon should be eligible to play in one week which should make him eligible for the clubs double header against the Redbacks and Hawks in week 7.
