Giants Team 20 Squad Released

The SKILLED Goldfields Giants Team 20 Selection Panel has selected a 20 player squad from which the Giants Team 20 will be chosen. The final team, consisting of twelve players including three imports and a coach, will be announced at a gala MVP Team 20 celebration dinner planned for August 29.

The twenty player shortlist is:

Australian Players

Leon Williamson, Shamus Ballantyne, Randy Miegel, Wayne Creek, Wayne Chapman, Jimmy Bowler, Ryan Hulme, Jason Harrison, Mark Heron, Marcus Taylor, Mark Dellar, Brent Hobba, Todd Earle, John Kingswood & Matt Leske

Imports

Ricky Cannon, Calvin (Doc) Earl, Brian Tudman, Michael Haney, Mike Elliot

Coaches

Randal Hulme, Jeff Williamson, Barry Lawson, Geoff Hobba & Stephen Charlton

SKILLED Goldfields Giants Chairman, Graham Crew said "This squad really demonstrates the strength and depth of the club over twenty years when great servants like Brendan Brinkworth, Steve Malec, Tom Witts and Brendon Macdonald and many others, who were all strongly considered, have to be left out.

The Team 20 Selection panel has done a fantastic job of a very unenviable task in naming twenty from the many great players who have represented this club. Each of these players named has fulfilled the Team 20 criteria and has made a significant contribution both on and off the court. It is pleasing to see a great mix of past greats and more recent championship heroes."

The Club is planning to celebrate 20 seasons in the SBL by extending an open invitation to all present and past players, coaches, committee, volunteers and supporters to attend this year's MVP Award and special Team 20 presentation on August 29. We are hoping that as many people as possible can make it to celebrate this fantastic achievement.
