Andy Stewart reaches 400 game milestone

Lakeside Lightning Head Coach, Andy Stewart, tonight coaches his 400th Men’s SBL Game.

The Lightning Men will be looking to honour Stewart’s milestone achievement with a win tonight against the East Perth Eagles in the first game of their best-of-three semi-final series at the Morley Sport and Recreation Centre.

The success of Andy’s outstanding coaching career speaks for itself, with 286 wins from 399 games (73%).

Stewart has led the Lightning to thirteen finals series, including the last twelve years straight.

With Andy at the helm the Lightning have been involved in 5 Grand Final appearances and three MSBL Championships in 2005, 2006 and 2009.

Stewart's other roles in basketball include his position as President of the Lakeside Lightning for the past 17 years, Basketball WA Board Member since 2011, Perth Wildcats Assistant Coach and a current SBL Commissioner.

Lakeside will celebrate Andy's achievement at the Lakeside Recreation Centre on August 23, when the Lightning take on the Eagles in game 2 of the Semi Finals.

The State Basketball League would like to congratulate Andy on his outstanding milestone achievement and thank him for his dedication and commitment to Basketball in Western Australia.
