Week Eleven 'Kickz101 Perth' Newcomers of the Week
Kalamunda Eastern Suns forward Louis Timms has been announced the Men’s week eleven ‘Kickz101 Perth’ Newcomer of the Week.
Twenty-one year old Timms put his 205cm frame to perfect use against the Senators on Saturday night accumulating some massive numbers to guide the Suns to their second win of the season 108-89.
Timms played a pivotal role for the Suns by shooting 68% from the field and finished with a game high 32 points to go with 12 rebounds and 4 blocks.
If Timms can continue to put up good numbers in partnership with Australian Boomer Luke Nevill, the Suns will be sure to cause a few more upsets this season.
The Women’s week eleven ‘Kickz101 Perth’ Newcomer of the Week has been awarded to Haylee DeSousa of the Toll Ipec East Perth Eagles
Eagles coach Aaron Berryman called on the eighteen year old to take the court against Cockburn on Saturday night and in just nine minutes DeSousa made two big three’s and pulled down 3 rebounds.
The Eagles went down 65-44 to the Cougars and have struggled to find the winning combination in 2013, however fans can be excited for the future as Haylee continues to develop into one of the young stars of the WSBL.
Timms and DeSousa are now in contention for the monthly award where the winner of a facebook poll receives a pair of shoes of their choice thanks to Kickz101 Perth.
