April 'Kickz101 Perth' Newcomer's of the Month

The April ‘Kickz101 Perth’ Men’s Newcomer of the Month has been awarded to the Australian Belt Scrapers Wanneroo Wolves forward Robert Huntington.

The SBL gave the fans the ability to decide the winner via a voting ballot displayed on the SBL Facebook page. Over one thousand fans participated in the poll with Huntington edging out Stirling Senators young gun Caleb Davis by just seven votes when voting closed at 9:00am Monday.

Huntington’s stand-out performance of 49 points, 18 rebounds & 2 assists over 61minutes in two games earned him the week seven nomination and demonstrates why at just 22 years of age, fans will be keen to follow his development into one of the superstars of the State Basketball League.

In the Women’s SBL, 22 year old Mandurah Magic star Rachel Halleen was voted the April ‘Kickz101 Perth’ Women’s Newcomer of the Month.

Halleen was a clear fan favourite for the award after receiving more than half the total votes (92) to stay clear of BOQ Perth Redbacks forward Jessica Jakens who finished second with 30 votes.

Rachel had a solid month for the Magic with a number of consistent games including a week seven performance of 16 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists.

Halleen and Huntington will now receive a free pair of shoes of their choice in-store thanks to award sponsors Kickz101 Perth.

Kickz101 Perth is located in the city in the Piccadilly Arcade, Upstairs near Cinemas and is open seven days a week.
