Lakeside Lightning will be confident going into round ten of the men's State Basketball League action this weekend, taking on the South West Slammers on Friday night and hosting Geraldton Buccaneers on Saturday.

The Lightning’s biggest test will be against the Buccaneers on Saturday, Geraldton will be desperate to improve on their 5-7 record and show that they can match the top teams in the league.

Geraldton will be confident of picking up a win against the struggling Kalamunda Eastern Suns on Sunday who have won just two games so far this season.

The Goldfields Giants will host the second place Wanneroo Wolves on Saturday night, the Wolves still hungry for the top spot and looking for another victory on the back of three consecutive wins.

The East Perth Eagles will take on the third placed Mandurah Magic on Saturday, the Magic jumped into a top four spot last week and will be looking to continue their strong form.

A top four position could be within reach for the Cockburn Cougars this weekend if things go their way, taking on the sixth place Perry Lakes Hawks on Friday night and then hosting the Eastern Suns on Saturday.

The Cougars have a 7-4 record and are just ahead of the Hawks (6-5) making this game crucial for both sides if they want to maintain touch with the top four.

Life won’t be getting any easier for the bottom of the ladder Rockingham Flames who will host the fourth placed Perth Redbacks on Saturday night in a tough encounter.

The Stirling Senators host the Hawks on Saturday night giving the ninth place Senators a chance to make it back into a top eight position after losing their last two games.

Willetton will be after a big win against the Slammers on Saturday night after continuing their record of close games with a two point loss to Mandurah and a one point loss to Perth in week nine.
