Pearman announces retirement

After 14 seasons & 298 SBL Games which included last year’s Championship, former Wanneroo captain Tony Pearman has announced his retirement.

Throughout his 14 SBL seasons, Pearman has 2,667 points (8.9 average) and 1,111 assists (3.7 per game).

Captain Greg Hire spoke about the loss of his former Captain.

"Tony is one of the most professional individuals I have ever played with and he put everything into what he did."

"It's obviously a real shame that he has decided to retire but what he's given to Wolves basketball is immense."

Throughout his career Pearman was renowned for being a tough player with that reputation being backed up by Hire.

"He was ferocious at the Guard position, and it was one of those things that made him so special. He brought his own mark to that point guard role and he dedicated himself to being the best he can be."

The loss of Pearman also leaves a gap in the Wolves leadership group with Hire speaking of the influence Pearman had early in his career.

"The guidance and advice he played in the early parts of my career is something I admire and I hope I continue his legacy and being a great leader"
