Tigers stun Wolves to force game three (Saturday Night Wrap)

Willetton Tigers' men's State Basketball League title defence is still alive after they beat Wanneroo Wolves 94-89 in game two of their best of-three quarter-finals series.

The Tigers were on the brink of elimination after losing game one last week but held off a late comeback to upset the second seed on the road and force the series to a deciding third match on Sunday.

Willetton took an eight-point lead with five minutes left and held on through the tense final moments, despite being held scoreless for more than three minutes late in the quarter.

Import Rob Kampman starred for the Tigers with 31 points to help his side overcome an impressive effort from Wanneroo and Wildcats guard Brad Robbins (26 points).

The winner of that match-up will face Cockburn Cougars in the final four after they eliminated Perth Redbacks with a two-nil series victory.

The Cougars beat the under-strength Redbacks, who were without NBL players Jesse Wagstaff and Joel Wagner, 130-93 in game two.

American guard Ty Harrelson had an incredible 50 points to carry his side to victory, while youngster Michael Vigor had 30 points for Perth.

Perry Lakes will meet top seed Lakeside in the semi-final after the Hawks swept Stirling with a 95-81 win in game two.

Anthony Lee top-scored for the Hawks with 38 points.

In women's action, minor premiers Willetton forced its series against Lakeside to a deciding third match on Sunday after winning game two 74-58. The victor of that series will meet Wanneroo in the semis after it beat Mandurah 78-70 in the deciding game.

Perry Lakes won its match-up against Cockburn two-nil after a 78-66 victory in game two and the Hawks will face East Perth in the final four after the Eagles eliminated Kalamunda with a 75-60 game three victory.
