Week Eighteen PowerPlayers of the Week

Australian Central Eagles guard Drew Williamson has claimed his first PowerPlayer of the Week award of the season after guiding his team to their tenth win in the last twelve games with two wins over Kalamunda and South West.

Williamson received the honours over Total Connections Perry Lakes Hawks forward Anthony Lee to claim the Week Eighteen $50 voucher to PowerPlay Sports in Osborne Park.

Williamson started the weekend with 21 points, eight rebounds and eight assists on Friday night in a 130-81 win against the Eastern Suns. He then scored a team high 25 points along with eight rebounds and nine assists the following night in a 111-81 win against the Slammers.

Runner-Up Lee was equally impressive as his side split the weekend 1-1 starting with a loss to an emotion-filled Rockingham side 109-92, with Lee recording 26 points and 13 rebounds. Lee then put his side back on the winners list with a 104-92 win over the Tigers, notching up 24 points, 16 rebounds and eight assists.

The Eagles claimed the PowerPlayer of the week double this week, with Samantha Norwood claiming her third award of the season after leading her team to big wins over Kalamunda and South West.

Norwood edged out Mandurah Magic’s Hailey Dunham who led her side to a win over Lakeside to put her team third on the ladder with one round remaining.

Norwood was a dominant force in the 69-59 win over the Eastern Suns with 18 points, 12 rebounds and five assists, then backed it up the following night in Eaton with a game high 23 points and 14 rebounds in the 74-57 defeat of the Slammers.

Dunham was unlucky to miss out on this week’s award with 28 points, five rebounds and three steals in the 86-71 win over the Lightning.
