Teams set for Good Friday spectacular

Week Six State Basketball League action continues tonight for Good Friday basketball action with three venues hosting games.

There will be a block buster country double-header at Ray Owen Sports Centre in Lesmurdie Kalamunda host Geraldton (6:00pm) and Rockingham play Goldfields (8:30pm).

The Eastern Suns will be looking to improve on their 2-5 record as the Buccaneers (2-4) will be looking to continue their climb up the standings, having won two of their last three matches.

The Flames will be looking to regain some form against the Giants having only won one of their last three matches. The Giants have had a strong run at home since dropping their first two matches on the road and will be looking to bring that form with them over the Easter weekend.

The Wally Hagan Stadium will be rocking with the Cockburn Cougars tackling the Perth Redbacks, with the Men's game being broadcast free on SBLtv.com.

In the Women's match (6:00pm) the eighth placed Cougars (3-3) will do battle with the sixth placed Redbacks (4-3) with both teams looking to strengthen their top eight positions.

The Men's action will tip off at 8:00pm as the second placed Cougars (6-1) will look to recapture first place after Lakesides win last night put them on top.

Led by Stan Ocitti, the Cougars are in top form and one of the teams to beat so far this season and this game should be another thriller.

The fourth placed Redbacks (5-2) will provide a tough test for the Cougars, who lost their first game last weekend, with a number of players in great form and the recent return of NBL guard Joel Wagner.

The other game will see the Total Connections Perry Lakes Hawks host the Australian Central Eagles at the WA Basketball Centre.

The Women will tip off at 6:00pm with the fourth placed Hawks looking to continue their four game winning streak against the third placed Eagles, who have their own three game winning streak.

The Men's game will see the ninth placed Eagles (3-4) look to put pressure on the eighth placed Giants after halting a three game losing streak last week against the Slammers.

To do that they will have to get past the 4-3 Hawks who are on a three game winning streak led by star import Anthony Lee.
