Hire, Fielding take POW honours
Hire and Fielding will receive $50 vouchers for PowerPlay Sports in Subiaco as a result of outstanding performances last weekend.
The Wolves forward was crucial in securing fifth place for the Wolves with a 96-87 win over the SKILLED Goldfields Giants.
Hire finished with 21 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists on 8 from 13 shooting to secure the Wolves fifth spot and relegate the Giants to seventh.
Southlands Willetton Tigers and newly signed Wildcats guard Cameron Tovey along with Redbacks big man Daniel Maddox were also considered for the weekly honours.
Fielding claimed the Women’s honours after leading the Slammers to their first victory of the season against the Metropolis Fremantle Cockburn Cougars.
The talented Slammer had 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists as her team secured the thrilling 66-65 victory over the in-form Cougars.
On Friday night Fielding had a solid performance as well with 10 points and 8 rebounds as her side went down 48-66 to the Lightning
Mandurah Magic stalwart Casey Mihovilovich and Perry Lawes Hawks import Dana-Renae Jones were unlucky to miss out on the award after their strong performances over the weekend.
