Season launch a success for Eagles

East Perth District Basketball Association (EPDBA) is pleased to announce that the 2010 SBL Season Launch of the Australian Central Eagles held on Sunday 7 March 2010 was a success.

A great crowd was in attendance enjoying the complimentary drinks, whilst the SBL Men trained with the 2010 Under 14 Boys Touring Team on Court 1.

Brett Nazarri, EPDBA Managing Director welcomed everyone and introduced Tim Prowse, State Manager forvAustralian Central Credit Union, the major sponsor for EPDBA’s Men and Women SBL teams the Australian Central Eagles.

Tim introduced Australian Central Credit Union, a successful member-owned long standing financial institution that can assist members and clients in achieving their financial and lifestyle goals through a full range of quality financial products, services and advice.

The Raffle for the 2010 Season Corporate Box was drawn with the assistance of Tim and the winner was Matt Elliot.

Anthony Fletcher, Head Coach for the Australian Central Eagles Women team introduced the 2010 squad lead by team captain, Bindi Foote, including new recruits Ashley Gilmore and Samantha Norwood from the Go for 2 & 5 Perth Lynx and SBL veteran and former Perth Lynx player Liz Cooke, and returning US Import Kelsey Maffin.

Damien Chalk, Head Coach for the Australian Central Eagles Men team introduced the 2010 squad lead by team captain Andrew McLennan, including new recruits Paul Rogers and Sam Harris from the Perth Wildcats, and returning veterans Ben Thompson and Aaron Wigg.

In addition to the introduction of the 2010 SBL Squads, Brett asked EPDBA’s Under 14 Boy’s coach, and former Perth Wildcat player, Neville Robb to introduce the team that will be attending the 2010 Australian Under 14 Boys Club Championships to be held in Belconnen, ACT from 27 September 2010 to 2 October 2010.

The 2010 season starts with a home game at Morley Sport and Recreation Centre on Saturday 13 March 2010 against the Willetton Tigers with the Women starting at 6pm and the Men at 8pm.
