Pre-Season Blitz to hit Kalamunda

The 2010 State Basketball League Pre-Season Blitz will be held at the Ray Owen Sports Centre in Kalamunda from February 26 - March 1.

All fourteen Men's and twelve Women's teams will be participating in the four day tournament over the long weekend with action set to hit fever point just days out from the Week One of the season.

Fans can watch high quality basketball for the full day for just $6.00 entry per day.

Reigning SBL Champions Willetton Tigers (Women) and Lakeside Lightning (Men) will look to make an impressive start to their Championship defence before Round One. With many teams showing off their new look, the new talent in the league will be licking their lips at the chance to do battle with the best. Most sides will be fielding full strength teams for the tournament, in what will be many teams only pre-season games.

SBL Operations Manager CJ Jackson was elated to be bringing back the Pre-Season Blitz.

"The Pre-Season tournament gives fans and coaching staff a chance to see all of the teams first hand before Week One."

"It is the only time this year every SBL team will be in the same stadium at the same time, it will be a great weekend for basketball fans and the teams will benefit immensely too."

The Ray Owen Sports Centre is one of the best facilities in the State with full cafeteria and bar facilities on hand as well as three National Standard courts, as we saw from their hosting of the Australian Under 16 Championships. In addition to the on-court facilities there are meeting rooms and team rooms throughout the venue and plenty of seating on all three courts for fans.

Make sure you hit the blitz this long weekend.

Further details on fixtures will be available shortly.
