Suns confirm WSBL Off-Court Team

The Kalamunda Eastern Suns Women’s SBL team are well into their preparation for the 2010 season and Head Coach Craig Mansfield is proud to confirm his teams off-court panel with Brett Kranz-Little (Assistant Coach), Peter Nalder (Assistant Coach), Sharon Murray (Assistant Coach), Paige Thring (Team Manager) and Mark Oberman (Physiotherapist) who will all play significant roles pushing towards success.

Firstly, Kranz-Little who has been a prominent figure in Basketball within Western Australia in recent times presently acting as an Assistant Coach for the Perth Lynx WNBL program and assisting Craig Mansfield with the Suns Men in the SBL arena during the past 12 months.

In addition to his senior coaching roles Brett has been an active coach in the WABL competition leading the Suns U/18-1 Men in 2009 and Suns U/18-2 Men during 2008 to accompany involvement within the NITC program between 2006-2009 and his current employment with Basketball WA.

Speaking on his commitment to Kalamunda Kranz-Little said "We've got a great bunch of young and exciting players joining the Suns SBL group who I’m confident will compliment the returning group.

"I'm looking forward to the new Development League, which will allow us a chance to showcase and develop some of our younger girls on a bigger stage than the WABL competition has offered previously which will build on the success the senior program has had over the past two years."

Now to Nalder who arrives with an extensive history within country WA basketball circles but most recently was apart of the East Perth SBL Women’s program in 2009 where he was a key ingredient of an Eagles team which narrowly missed out on a playoff berth after winning a handful of games in the preceding couple of seasons.

It was with this success that now former Perth Lynx Head Coach Joe McKay communicated with Nalder inviting him assist with the National league squad and despite the recent change in coaching personnel Nalder remains and important figure with the team.

Speaking on his support crew Mansfield said the following "I'm extremely happy to assemble this coaching staff. One of my goals for Suns WSBL is to establish a platform that can provide stability, success and continuity for the program long term. These people have basketball experience and knowledge, strong communication skills, are honest, trustworthy and have the potential to be head coaches in the near future."
