Big re-signing for Australian Central Eagles

7ft Centre Tom Jervis to the Australian Central Eagles after re-signing for the 2010 season.

Jervis (22 years old) returned to the Eagles part of the way through last season after playing with Troy University in Alabama, a Division 1 NCAA team.

Jervis played 8 games for the Eagles in the 2009 season where he averaged almost 17 points, 12 rebounds and 2 blocks per game with a season high 28 points against the Buccaneers in Round 15.

EPDBA Managing Director, Brett Nazzari had the following comment on the re-signing “It is great to have one of the Eagles’ junior players return particularly after he has spent time furthering his basketball development at a Division 1 NCAA College.”

New Eagles’ Head Coach Damien Chalk said “We are looking forward to having Tom play for the whole season where his presence at both ends of the court will make us a lot tougher to play against.

Tom’s signing is part of the club’s overall goal to improve its player depth and to create an environment where we can move towards sustained success going forward.”

Tom is looking forward to teaming up with his team mates from junior days, playing the whole season with the Australian Central Eagles and enjoying some success along the way.

Australian Central Eagles are having open trial sessions starting Sunday 29 November 2009 at 2pm at the Morley Sport and Recreation Centre. The Eagles would love to see as many current and former East Perth Eagles’ seniors and juniors at the open trial session along with any players who feel like they are stale in their current circumstance or indeed are interested in a change to come along to the open session. Prospective players can get further details from the Eagles website.
