Yasmin Miller - Player Profile

Yasmin started playing club basketball when she was just 8. She has played rep since under 12's through to her current selection in the U18 girls Premier League Team. Yasmin was named in the Qld South Development team in U15's, state reserve for bottom age 16's, and selected in the state team for top age 16's.  She also played Clippers in 2011 being named "Rookie of the year".
 
Yasmin has played Sunshine Coast regional basketball since she was 11.  She was named captain of the Sunshine Coast Regional team this year as a year 11 student at Mountain Creek State High School. She subsequently went on to make the Qld and Australian teams as a bottom ager, a fantastic achievement. 
 
As a member of the Australian Schools Team, she will tour the USA departing for Texas and Arizona on Nov 27 and returning Dec 17.  The Australian team will play 12 games ranging from high school and junior colleges in single games and mini tournaments.  There is one other Queensland girl in the Australian team.
 
Maroochy basketball has had many players make the Australian Schoolgirls/boys teams over the years including: Zane Meehl, Zac Turner, Scott Kenny, Lachlan Miller, Amy Browne Courtney Browne, Yasmin Miller.

This year at the Mountain Creek State High School awards, Yasmin was honoured as an inductee to the Hall of Fame and the Senior Girls Team were awarded the Sporting Team of the Year, capping off a big year for Yasmin. It is fair to say Maroochydore Basketball has had a big role in the success of Mtn Creeks Basketball success over the years and hopes to continue the relationship for many to come. 
 
Lachlan and Yasmin are the only brother and sister to be inducted into the Hall of Fame at Mountain Creek SHS (Lach was inducted in Year 10  - 2007 when the Qld Schoolboys won the national title for the first time ever).
