BRIGHTON
FOOTBALL CLUB & FOUNDATION 49
FOUNDATION 49 CUP,
SUNDAY JUNE 27
EBFC v St Pauls
(Div 1 SFL)
Hurlingham Park, Nepean Hwy East Brighton
· Foundation 49 is a
not-for-profit community health initiative of Cabrini Health and is
funded
solely through donations and special events and does not receive any
ongoing
government funding, relying instead on the generosity of the Australian
community.
· Foundation 49 aims to
reduce this statistic by raising health awareness and encouraging men to
have
regular health checks.
· East Brighton
Football Club (Vampires) forged an alliance with Foundation 49 in 2010
to drive
healthy living in our football community that ranges from players aged 8
years
through to supporters in their 80’s and 90’s.
· The F49 Cup day on
Sunday 27 June aims to raise funds for Foundation 49 and awareness of
health
issues facing men in our community.
· On this day, EBFC
Juniors will play prior to the Reserve and Senior games, where the
traditional
local derby between East Brighton & St Pauls Bentleigh will take
place.
· Over 400 children are
playing Junior football at EBFC.
· A range of activities
including raffles, food and wares from our sponsors and local traders
will
provide exceptional off-field entertainment on the day.
· We urge all SFL
Clubs, football lovers and people living in the Brighton community to
get along
and support Men’s Health and their local club on Sunday 21 June.
