Development Officer
Rockhampton Basketball Incorporated is seeking a pro-active and enthusiastic person to become an integral member of the Rockhampton Basketball community. Primary responsibilities of this role include increasing participation and growth across all facets of the sport and the promotion of basketball in the wider community.
This position is located in Rockhampton which is located on the Tropic of Capricorn in Central Queensland. Rockhampton Basketball has recently been voted Queensland Small Association of the Year, won the 2010 State QBL Title with the Rockhampton Rockets, opened a new two indoor court facility while also enjoying significant growth over the past three years.
Applicants shall be prepared to be actively involved in all participation activities while assisting the relevant committees of the organisation in their fundamental charter of continued growth in basketball in Rockhampton.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Expose basketball to school aged children in the region
- Coordinate and maintain existing programs that are participation focused
- Implement policies and procedures of Rockhampton Basketball
- Coordinate, promote and deliver education and training courses in one or all of the following: coaching, refereeing, score table functions and statistics
- Assist clubs in the overall development
Selection Criteria shall include not limited to:
- Blue Card (working with children) or the ability to obtain one
- Well developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
- Computer literacy
- Ability to work outside of normal hours and on weekends
- A current driver’s licence
- Current Level One basketball coaching accreditation (or higher)
