It was a victorious night for Rockhampton basketball fans, with the Cyclones’ win followed up by the Rockets completely overwhelming the Gladstone Power in the mens’ match. The Rockets took command of the match early, and never conceded their lead, despite the efforts of Gaines, Silverman and Meyerding for Gladstone. Ryan McDade was dominant in the paint, taking nearly half of his team’s 52 rebounds, and scoring 18 points at 69 percent in the field, his efforts earning him the Player of the Week title for this round. With fellow Rockets Nasalo, Reed and Philp also strong on points, Rockhampton’s big win keeps them at the top of the QBL ladder on percentages.
