Cyclones dowse Townsville Flames

CHANDREA Jones was in red hot form yesterday as the Frenchville Sports Club Cyclones blitzed the Townsville Flames, 75-47.
Jones led her team to a comprehensive victory, scoring 15 points and picking up nine rebounds.

Cyclones coach Heath Millar said the team played really well against a tough Townsville side.
"Townsville played a really tough game to back up after playing Gladstone (Saturday) night," Millar said.
"They fought hard but they were missing a lot of key players this week."

It was the combination and talent of Cyclones recruits Jones, Shanavia Dowdell and Nicole Romeo that allowed the home side to control yesterday's encounter.

The Cyclones were particularly impressive in the third quarter.
"Jones, Dowdell and Romeo played really well and came out strong to build it up and take control," Millar said.
"All our local girls had time on the court and really brought it home in the end."

The Cyclones have put together nine straight wins and will look to continue the streak when they hit the road and go up against Maroochydore and Bundaberg in back-to-back games this coming weekend.
