Brisbane Capitals: 2017 QBL Schedule Announced

Auchenflower, Brisbane: The Brisbane Capitals will play their QBL season openers at home at NAB Stadium against the Gold Coast Rollers on Saturday April 29th. Tip off: Lady Caps - 6.00pm and Men - 8.00pm.

Brisbane Capitals Men's team will host last season's Champions, the Cairns Marlins, on Saturday, May 13th in Round 3 action. 

The Lady Capitals will travel to Mackay to play last season's Champions the Mackay Meteors on Friday July 21st before facing the team that knocked the Lady Caps out of Championship contention in the Final Four and eventual 2016 runners up, the Rockhampton Rockets on Saturday, July 22nd.

The Capitals Men and Women teams both face off against returning league contender, the Southern Districts Spartans, in Round 4 on Saturday, May 27th in an away game clash that is sure to ignite old rivalries.

The Caps will close out the regular season at home against the Southern Districts Spartans, Saturday July 29th and againt second year newcomers the University of Sunshine Coast Rip on Saturday, August 5th.

The 2017 QBL season boasts the introduction of a new finals format to the league with the Top 8 teams progressing to the Quarterfinals. This new format is sure to set the league up for a competitive season and perhaps the tightest race to the playoffs in recent league history.

Preseason: Having so far secured 15 returning Brisbane players for the 2017 season, both the Men and Women's QBL teams will commence preseason games in March. The Brisbane Capitals season launch is scheduled for Saturday April 22nd at NAB Stadium signalling the much anticipated start to the 2017 season. Details and Tip off times for the season launch will be advertised closer to the event.
