Thank you to all of those who came out in their Caps Gear or Navy Blue colours to support our Women's SBL and Men's QBL teams last Saturday night. Over 400 spectators saw an electric night of SBL and QBL Basketball action.

The SBL Women coached by Michael Van Dongen had a great Semi-Final win beating South West Pirates 74 to 39, which now means they are hosting the Grand Final 5.30pm this Saturday Night (August 22nd). Our opponents will be the Gold Coast Rollers who are coached by former Brisbane Capitals Player Tim Smith.

The QBL Men's Game was, well... WOW!! After taking the lead by as many as 14 points in the 3rd quarter, the Cap’s men were staring down a double digit deficit on the tail of a 27 point swing to Ipswich before the 3rd quarter break. Ipswich led by James Legan’s 7 X 3 pointers in the 3rd quarter had quite a few people thinking our boys were done.

However the fighting spirit and fitness of the Caps would not let them go down without a fight. A 4th quarter surge by Anthony Kopcikas and Aaron Anderson who were instrumental in making shots late in the game and also the tireless work by Dusty Rychart grabbing 22 rebounds got the hard fought win, and now Geoff Tarrant and the team progress to the Semi-Final Round this weekend vs Gladstone (8.00pm) who are coached by none other than the NBL Legend Derek Rucker.
